JOY!

Recently I have been learning what it means to be truly "joyful".  Joy and happiness are two different things. Happiness is temporary and is brought on by something (i.e. getting a new car, vacations, etc.) but none of that lasts...it's only temporary.  Joy is something that only the Lord can give you. The JOY of the LORD is my strength. Joy is what kicks in when you put the Lord in control of your life.
I have been reading a book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I encourage everyone to read it...it has changed my life already and I'm only on chapter four.  Basically it is teaching me that our lives are a vapor...here today, gone tomorrow.  We need to use each second that we have to bring about JOY in our lives because we never know when it may be our day to meet Jesus face to face.  It is teaching me not to love this life we are living here on earth--but long for life eternal.  As americans...we worship this life and all that it brings with it. New cars, new cell phones, the best houses, bigger and better everything. The bible says we are to store up our treasures in heaven, not on earth. So what are we doing? I have been there...wanting this or that...but what happens when I get it? I move on to wanting something else.  That vicious cycle of never being truly happy.  I am here to tell you that you can find true JOY...the only One who can give you true joy is God.  I have found it and I want everyone to feel what I feel. Peace in knowing that the Lord has everything under control. I have peace...and peace is an amazing feeling. Even in the storms of life...His anchor holds. He knew you before you were born...he counted the hairs on your head. Your creator longs for a personal relationship with you. He created us for His pleasure...He will make living worth while. Trust me...Trust HIM!

Oh BABY!!!

Baby number three is on it's way. He/She will make its appearance around October 7, 2011. I am very shocked and excited at the same time! I worry often if it will be too overwhelming having to handle three but if not now, then when? I really want to be able to have my third and final child and move on to the next chapter in my life. I want to enjoy sports games and school functions even though I know those years fly by. Knowing that this is going to be my last pregnancy, I am really going to try to enjoy it! I always loved being pregnant before (minus the pubic separation symphasis and sciatica).  I love feeling the precious baby move inside me and the entire miracle that birth entails.

The best thing of all about this pregnancy is the fact that my best friend is also pregnant and due only six weeks before me! I have never been able to experience pregnancy alongside someone else let alone my best friend!! I am excited to share in the experiences with her and plan some fun things along the way!!! Im also going to plan her baby shower and I LOVE planning parties!!!

Everyone is always saying that they hope I have a girl or something about me wanting a girl and I need to set the record straight (even though very few actually read this)!  I appreciate everyone wanting me to have something different but sometimes there is some comfort in what you already know.  I already know how to raise little boys...I already have boy clothes...I alredy have the trucks and trains and cars...I love my boys.  I honestly would not have gotten pregnant if I werent ok with having three boys. I put my faith in the Lord and I trust the only He knows what is best for me.  He may know that I wouldnt be able to handle a teenage girl and all that comes along with one. I want a girl only when I am shopping bc they always have such cute stuff but I have to say I try very hard to be creative when dressing my boys and they are pretty stylish too if I do say so myself :) And I will conclude this paragraph with the fact that boys LOVE their mamas. There is nothing like the love from your baby boy. Hudson always wanted to marry me :) That was the most precious thing ever! Point is...I would absolutely LOVE being the proud mom of three wonderful boys who will make great husbands might I add :)

Brody will be 2 in a few weeks! The party planning shall begin...stay tuned!

its that time again?

Yep...you guessed it...the 6 month annual cleaning at the dentist tomorrow. UGH!!! Even though I absolutely LOVE our dentist office, I am dreading it like you wouldnt believe. I hate teeth. Mine are overly sensitive and prone to cavities. I hate the drill. Just the very sound gives me goosebumps. Tomorrow morning I have to put on my happy face, though, because it is Hudsons first cleaning! YAY...(sarcasim sensed?)...oh well. I will push through it but I just had to put it out there that when this time of the year comes around...I dread it.
I cannot believe that Christmas is just two measly months away. Can you believe it? I actually LOVE the entire anticipation of Christmas. I grew up with so many family traditions for Christmas and I have carried on each one with my own children but this year I think I want to make our own. There is a place in our area where you can go on a horse and buggy ride, get hot chocolate, and cut down a real Christmas tree. It will definitely be different to have a real tree in our house...hoping I can get the gumption to keep my favorite white tree packed away. I love the music and the warmth of our cozy homes and the baking and just everything about it. I really cant wait!
On another note: I attended "mommy and me" night at Hudsons preschool tonight and we had a blast! We made many crafts, ate pizza, and played with his friends.  The teachers did a little interview with the kids about their moms and posted the answers on the wall.  Hudson says that I have brown eyes, I read books about flowers, books to him and I read my own books...If I was an animal I would be a caterpillar bc I was adopted...I take him on date nights to dunkin donuts and to the mall...and he loves me because I take him places and we go on dates. So cute but just to set it straight...Im not adopted. haha. not even remotely. I want to adopt...maybe he got confused. Lol. It made me feel really good that the one message that I want to send to my children means a lot to Hudson as well and I think he gets it. I constantly remind my children that God made them special. Our dates together reiterate that fact and I just hope that we will have many more dates together. I love that boy.

Well...Im pooped. Headed to bed! Goodnight!
