Birthday Blues...

Have I been a slacker or what?!!?

These past two weeks have been CrAzY!! Hudson has had a double ear infection of which the right ear seems to want to stay infected despite the antibiotic. I feel so bad for my poor baby who wakes up crying in the night and during his naps. It's so sad when babies are sick because they are so helpless! We have really been struggling to get to this first birthday totally 100% healthy but we are still praying!! We have an ear re-check on Friday (his 1st birthday) and hopefully the infection will be gone or that means a different kind of medicine! :0(

On a positive note, Hudson is walking all over the place lately. It's so funny because he will start crawling at times and when he realizes what he's doing, he will stand up and just start walking. It's like he forgot for a second or two! When he started taking steps at ten months we thought he would be an early walker but it seems like it has taken him FOREVER just to get this far! Finally we have gotten it though and it will only improve from here.

Hudson is saying more words lately but most of the time I notice his understanding is developing so much. The other day he was playing with a tissue and I told him "Go put it in the garbage!" (not thinking that he would understand or know what garbage is) and he crawled right over to the garbage can, stood up, put the tissue in there, and looked at me and clapped for my cheery approval! (of course i was cheering!) The other day he was playing in a drawer with dvds in it and i told him to put the dvds back (and he did) and shut the drawer (and he did)! It's just amazing how much they understand you. Some words he has added is water(wa wa), what's that? (adat), down, bubbles (bubus), more, etc. He has perfected the nana and amen also.

As for the birthday party plans, they are going well!! I feel like I have a lot to do before Friday but I think I can pull it off!! We are having a "fish" themed party for Hudson and I think I went a little crazy at the christmas tree shop in Nyack this weekend! I will definitely post pictures! I am praying for good weather so we can have most of the party outside so we wont have to be cooped up in a house. So far it is supposed to be sunny and 76! yay!

Well... I hope all is well...I am headed to bed...goodnight all!

IMkingdomboundRU?

My parents, my sisters, my sister's friends, Andy, Hudson and I all left for Kingdom Bound 2007 last Sunday August 5th around 11am. The ride there was really nice. Hudson had his portable DVD player strapped to the back of the seat so he could watch his Praise Baby Videos(the ONLY video that he will EVER watch). Once we arrived at our campsite, we all got settled in. Andy and the boys set up their tent while mom and I made the RV feel like home. We brought pretty much EVERYTHING with us right down to some throw rugs so it was comfortable, especially with the air conditioning!

Since it was Hudson's first time ever going to a theme park, Andy and I were so excited to take him on the rides!! Here he is riding on the monster trucks with mommy and playing the fishing game with daddy!

He absolutely could not get enough of the kid's rides and especially the water park.

As you can see, Hook's Lagoon was his favorite! Kids were running around splashing and water was squirting from everywhere and he didn't even care!! It was so much fun to see his excitement every time we pulled the little wagon up to the water park!!

(here's Hudson eating a jelly sandwich at the water park...Yum Yum!)

My dad purchased some reserved seats so we didn't have to wait in line for any of the concerts. We were pretty close and the music was definitely loud!! It was a good thing we brought ear plugs for Hudson!! Believe it or not, he really did love the concerts with the lights and the music. He would bob his head and dance and clap. You really cannot ever underestimate a one year old and all that they take in. During the concerts thousands of people were praising the Lord and lifting their hands, including our family and Hudson really took it all in. By the end of the trip, he learned how to praise Jesus. So now, whenever we say, "praise Jesus" his two little arms reach for the sky and it is the most rewarding scene ever. I have posted a picture below so you can see!

The holy spirit was present at every concert; it was a spiritual revival for us. My parents stayed back with Hudson for the Newsboys and Toby Mac because it's not really their style of music but it worked out just great for Andy and I!! :0) Toby Mac sang some old DC Talk songs and the Newsboys concert was just AWESOME!! We really had a wonderful time and best of all....the weather was beautiful!!! Many prayers went out to make that happen I'm sure but the Lord really pulled through for us as He always does!

On our way home yesterday we stopped at the outlet malls (yay!!) I bought a few things and ALMOST gave in and bought a Coach purse, but changed my mind at the last second. Yeah, that's me!! :0) Well, we are home now safe and sound and everything is back to normal. It is nice to go on vacation but it is also nice to be home. Now we are on vacation from our vacation if you know what I mean!
