It's just as they say....BABY STEPS!

Well, this past week has been very eventful for Hudson!! He began taking 4-7 steps at a time and I am one proud mommy! Of course having cheerleading experience I am definitely the one cheering him on all day trying to get him to walk all of the time. I guess that day will soon come...

Everything is happening too fast! I really don't know where the time went and it is really odd how you forget things that seemed so important at the time. I don't really remember him being the little "bump on a log" baby that I loved to cuddle and kiss. He will be turning eleven months next week...then...you know what comes next.

Speaking of which, Alison threw an awesome first birthday party for Nathan today which Hudson and I attended. We had so much fun eating hamburgers, watermelon and cake and playing with the sailboats and watching the children. I only hope that Hudson's party will be just as fun!! Thanks Alison!! :0)

My little boy is sleeping now and Andy will be home from work soon!! I better go and make dinner plans...hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

An afternoon at that SPA!!

Today my sister and I went to a local spa and had 1 hr. massages!! OHHHHHH it was WONDERFUL to say the least! Andy had gotten me a gift certificate wayy back when I had Hudson (10 1/2 months ago) and I just got around to using it! Andy was working with my dad tonight so my mom, hudson, ashley and I all went and my mom dropped us off and took Hudson shopping. I also decided to follow up my massage with a pedicure (an absolute must I think!) I now feel soo relaxed and refreshed it was wonderful.

Of course we can't go anywhere without going out to eat...:0) That's the best part as far as I'm concerned! We went to this authentic Mexican restaurant that was muy delicioso!! If you like Mexican food ask me what restaurant and I will give you the info!

We then went to the mall and browsed because my mom had to take some pants back but nothing really has changed since we were there last week. When Hudson gets big enough to move into a "big boy bed" I have decided I am going to move him into our spare room. A while back I found a really really cute dinosaur comforter set and I decided to go with that theme for his room. It's not an ugly graphic detailed dinosaur but really cute, more cartoonish dinosaurs. Well...we went to Kolhs tonight and they have "Kolhs for Kids" promotions they run usually with a $5 books and stuffed animals to go with it. The theme for Kolhs happen to be dinosaurs right now so none the less Hudson now has two dinosaur books and three stuffed dinosaurs thanks to Grandma and Aunt Ashley! I am trying to stock up in the mean time on all of the dinosaur books that I can find to make a pretty good collection for his bookshelf. I am really into themes so if anyone has any ideas let me know!!

Well I think I have babbled enought today...it's late! Goodnight!

Two posts in one day?? This is worth it!!

The most precious thing that I could have ever asked for happened today and I MUST share...

We are a praying family whether we are saying a blessing before dinner or praying with Hudson before he goes to bed at night. Ever since Hudson could eat baby food we would sing the little ditty "God is great, God is good, let us thank God for our food...etc. etc." Now he is old enough to understand so we have been saying our regular meal blessings. I would put his little hands together and say..."Let's pray..." and he would listen. Now, whenever we say "Let's pray" his little hands automatically go together in such a cute way! Tonight...after praying with Hudson at dinner, I said "Amen" and he said "Anen". Of course I didn't think it was possible so I said it again...and he repeated "Anen" It was the cutest thing I have ever heard and not only that, it was a very accomplished feeling as a parent to know that your child is taking a step toward his walk with the Lord. I know Hudson is too young to make that decision but we are getting there slowly! We immediately called up grandma and told her the good news. She came over and wanted to hear it...and she did! We both looked at eachother and melted! So precious! The Bible says it is written into the hearts of all man and that has been proven true today! Praise God!!!

A little sponge...

It's truly amazing how much children watch you and take in what you are doing and saying. Lately Hudson has been amazing me with the things that he can do. I want to write them so I have some kind of record of it so bear with me...

Every mealtime my mom or I give him a spoon or fork to hold on to. Just lately he has been taking the fork, turning it right side up, in his right hand and attempted to stab pieces of food with it and put it in his mouth!

The other day he was getting into Aunt Chelsea's bin of sharpie markers and playing with them (he hasn't figured out how to take the tops off yet thank God!!) There was a piece of paper lying on the floor and he crawled over to the paper with a marker in his hand, turned the marker so that the colored top end was facing down, put the marker to the paper and moved his hand around like he was coloring! It was so amazing especially because I have tried to have him use crayons before but it didn't interest him much.

When daddy plays playstation, Hudson always likes to steal his controllers so we have put an old controller in his toy basket for him to play with. The cord is long so I always wind it up tight so he can't wrap it around his neck or anything. The other day it was coming undone and so I asked him to bring it to me so I could fix it. When he brought it to me I unwound it and re-wound it back up tight and gave it back to him. He crawled behind the chair and a few minutes later he crawled back to me and it was all undone again!! Amazing!! Now it is a game that we play....I wind it up and he unwinds it! (not really a fun game for mommy) lol.

I guess that's all for now...when Hudson gets up we are going to go over to grandma Ema's and swim and play with Shelby and Zeb! Yay!! Hope everyone is having a great day!

FUN, FUN, and more FUN

Yesterday and today were very fun and relaxing. Hudson and I hung out at home yesterday morning and afternoon and had a very relaxing fun time together. He is getting to the perfect age where I really find myself just liking to hang out with him and play and watch him explore. He is getting so close to taking those first steps and I can tell he really wants to, especially when he sees Zeb running around everywhere. He can walk with me holding onto just one of my hands and tottle around. It is so cute! He also began taking daddy's basketball and throwing it up in the air just to watch it bounce on the floor. The ball is 2x his size and it's so funny to watch. It really can entertain him for hours.

Last night I went to the mall with my mom to get some more $5 shirts at Rue21 and 3 pairs of jeans at the Gap for Hudson for a total of....ready ladies???.....a total of $26.00!! That's $9 a pair! I thought that was pretty good. They were already on clearance and then I signed up for a Gap card and received 40% off. That was my steal of the night!

This morning I did hairstyles for a wedding with my mom. I had the pressure of doing the bride today which is a big, important task. I was nervous at first but it really turned out beautifully and I got a lot of compliments. They couldn't belive that I have never had any "formal" training.

We then took Hudson to the County Fair with some friends so that he could see the smelly animals....oh oops! Did I say smelly? I really don't mean that in a mean way....haha. When we got back to the car we both had cow/pig/alpaca/sheep poop on our stroller wheels!! GRR!! Andy and John got out the wipes and began to rub the crap off of the wheels! What great guys we have! lol. We then went out to dinner with our friends and had a really nice time.

I am going to try really hard to make a daily blogging effort! :0) PROMISE! Have a great night everyone!

Missing the blogging days...

Wow have I been a slacker in the blogging area lately!! Hudson is now 10 months old and July 4th has come and gone soo quickly. Last saturday night we took Hudson to our town fireworks and he absolutely loved them until about half way into them when he fell asleep!! I can't imagine sleeping through fireworks, but he managed! Poor little guy was wondering why mommy was trying to keep him awake until 10pm!! The worst thing about the holiday....I FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURES! I was so worried about keeping out of the rain that I left my camera in the car!! :0( So...I don't have any pictures to post right now.

Our new car has been working out wonderfully. We just filled it up for the first time since we got it two weeks ago and it still had a gallon left. And the best part...it only cost us $30!!! Amazing!!

Andy is working for my dad's catering business tonight so Hudson and I are going shopping with grandma!! (yay! :0) We love shopping with grandma! Well...I actually think that I could go shopping everyday and not get sick of it. It's always a challenge to find the best deals! Speaking of deals, the Gap is taking an extra 25% off of all of their baby clearance AND if you sign up for a Gap card before July 8th you receive 40% off your purchase!! I think that is my plan tonight :0) I love that store!

Well I better go get some work done around the house before Hudson wakes up from his morning nap! Hope everyone has a great day! :0)
