Children's Place Sales!!

Well...I have spent the last two days in Children's place. Absolutely EVERYTHING in their store except for their denim jeans is...ready??...$5.99!!!!!!!!!! I got TONS!!! Amazing deals and i love love love it! Hudson has gotten a bit sick of shopping but he was really well behaved considering.

Some news at the Ahart home...we have a skunk!!! A skunk that is in our yard at night and it's sooooo UGLY!! EWWWWW!! Sometimes when I get home from practice I see it so I literally run inside so it doesn't spray me! haha! Andy tried shooting it tonight with a BB Gun and it didn't work. Ugh...so nasty!!!!!!!!! I was going to buy Hudson the skunk costume at children's place a couple weeks ago...IRONIC!

As far as my stone goes...I have been feeling fine, PRAISE THE LORD! And I am very much looking forward to my appointment on Tuesday. Hudson has been saying more and more words like bath and Zeb (Beb) and Uh Oh and lots of other things. Today he learned how to sign "please". He rubs his tummy with his hands it's soo cute! Such a smart boy! He has also discovered his pee pee in the bath tub. Sometimes I am like...OUCH! That has gotta hurt! lol.

Well...tomorrow is Hudson and mommy day. (That means we're home basically all day together) MY FAVORITE!! :0) Hope everyone has a great day!

Stones, stones and more stones!

Both Hudson and I have stone issues lately...

For Hudson, it's picking up the little stones that daddy laid by our slate sidewalk and throwing them. (1) this makes daddy angry when he mows the lawn and (2) mommy gets angry because he's getting dirty and trying to eat them (yes, I know he's a boy!). Tonight we went to get ice cream with John, Jillian and Brooke and under the pavillion it is all stones. It was way too much for Hudson to pass up so he squirmed to get down and stupid me, I let him! Dirty he was and the throwing began. I don't know what is up with this new facination but I'm ready for it to be over with! lol. I know...I know!! HE'S A BOY!!! :0)

Now for my stone issues. I found out on Wednesday that I have an 8mm Kidney Stone in my kidney that is just sitting there for the time being. If at anytime it decides to move and attempt to go down my urethra, it will get stuck and cause an obstruction. Not to mention SEVERE pain and nausea for me. I know that I am not to be worried about anythign because the Lord has it all in His hands so I really am trying my best to trust in Him. The only thing I can't stop worrying about is the fact that at any split second I could be in a whole lot of pain. I'm scared. On the 25th I go back to see the actual urologist who is now out on maternity leave to come up with a plan. The nurse practitioner that I saw said sometimes they just watch them but I dont think they will since I can't pass this one on my own and it's got to come out sometime. The options: Surgically remove it or Laser it and break it up and force me to pass the smaller stones. I personally opt for the surgery. No matter what I am going to thank the Lord for every second that I'm not in pain instead of worrying when I will be. He will come through for me. I know it!

So there's our stone story. I will keep everyone updated...prayers are always welcome!

Goodnight...

My precious 1 year old...

Having a toddler instead of a baby is SOOOO much more fun than I expected!! His personality just makes me smile when I look at him and I just can't help but think that he looks just like his momma!!! :0) Hudson has been doing some really cute things lately....whenever we ask him to make the "funny face" he scrunches up his lips and nose and it's soo cute! Everyone around just dies and of course he eats up the attention. Speaking of attention, I took him to cheerleading practice with me tonight. Ohh boy did he love having 20 girls go gaga over him!! He would just run around chasing his basketball and throw it at them and chase it. He definitely is a walking pro now a days. He has mastered some other skills too like getting off mommy and daddy's bed and the couch, etc., he can step up small steps without getting down to his knees first and crawling up, he knows what a cow says, what a horsey says, what a bee says, he has been putting two words together too. Tonight he said "bye bye wa wa" when we were letting the water out of the bathtub. It was so cute. I just can't wait to see his personality develop each day. It's just when you think there isn't one thing they could do that you wouldn't expect...and then...another surprise! At this age the development is just astounding. God is good!! I praise Him for us having a walking talking breathing healthy baby. I am not worthy...and that's why God is sooo good all the time!

These next few days are busy ones. On Wednesday I have to see a urologist for the results of a CT Scan that they had to perform because I had blood in my urine last week. Yeah...that was scary. When I was pregnant for Hudson my urine looked like cranberry juice at times. They said I passed some stones then (luckily I had no pain). This time they suspect something similar. I guess I will know soon and I will keep you all posted. After my appointment Hudson has his 1 year appointment. His Dr. was away last week so we had to wait until this week. More shots....ughh....

I better get to bed soon....goodnight everyone!! John, Jillian and Brooke~ we're glad you had a good time and that you made it home safely!! Talk to you soon!

HUDSON'S 1ST BIRTHDAY!!

This is Hudson's Fish Cake Mommy made!!! Yum Yum!

Here are some of the children playing!! What fun!

Here we are blowing out the candle! YAY!

We celebrated Hudson's birthday yesterday and the party went very well. We have lots of friends and family come and it really was a lot of fun. I may have went overboard with the "fish" theme but everytime it's not my fault. It was just an easy theme!!

After blowing out his birthday candle, Hudson decided to DEVOUR a cup cake!! And I mean devour!! He loved it! We have a few sitting on the counter in the kitchen left over and he keeps asking for it. I'm not quite sure how to tell him he was only allowed because it was his birthday! lol. He wouldn't understand.

How does it feel having a one year old? I'm not quite sure...not really any different, but I know for sure that it just gets better from here. His personality is blossoming and it is just so wonderful. I love babies and having a newborn, but I also love being able to interact and play with Hudson. It is just so different. The feelings of a parent are undescribable...it's just amazing. I really think that God put that feeling inside of us so that we would understand the way that He feels toward us. Actually you can probably multiply that feeling times 100,000!

We went to the lake today and took Hudson on the boat for the first time. He really loved it except for the stupid life jacket that was choking him! lol. It was too funny!! Andy is working for my dad's catering business tonight and tomorrow so I am alone. I think I'm going to go get my shower and cuddle up in bed (with myself...haha) and watch TV. Sounds good!! I'm out!

Birthday Blues...

Have I been a slacker or what?!!?

These past two weeks have been CrAzY!! Hudson has had a double ear infection of which the right ear seems to want to stay infected despite the antibiotic. I feel so bad for my poor baby who wakes up crying in the night and during his naps. It's so sad when babies are sick because they are so helpless! We have really been struggling to get to this first birthday totally 100% healthy but we are still praying!! We have an ear re-check on Friday (his 1st birthday) and hopefully the infection will be gone or that means a different kind of medicine! :0(

On a positive note, Hudson is walking all over the place lately. It's so funny because he will start crawling at times and when he realizes what he's doing, he will stand up and just start walking. It's like he forgot for a second or two! When he started taking steps at ten months we thought he would be an early walker but it seems like it has taken him FOREVER just to get this far! Finally we have gotten it though and it will only improve from here.

Hudson is saying more words lately but most of the time I notice his understanding is developing so much. The other day he was playing with a tissue and I told him "Go put it in the garbage!" (not thinking that he would understand or know what garbage is) and he crawled right over to the garbage can, stood up, put the tissue in there, and looked at me and clapped for my cheery approval! (of course i was cheering!) The other day he was playing in a drawer with dvds in it and i told him to put the dvds back (and he did) and shut the drawer (and he did)! It's just amazing how much they understand you. Some words he has added is water(wa wa), what's that? (adat), down, bubbles (bubus), more, etc. He has perfected the nana and amen also.

As for the birthday party plans, they are going well!! I feel like I have a lot to do before Friday but I think I can pull it off!! We are having a "fish" themed party for Hudson and I think I went a little crazy at the christmas tree shop in Nyack this weekend! I will definitely post pictures! I am praying for good weather so we can have most of the party outside so we wont have to be cooped up in a house. So far it is supposed to be sunny and 76! yay!

Well... I hope all is well...I am headed to bed...goodnight all!

IMkingdomboundRU?

My parents, my sisters, my sister's friends, Andy, Hudson and I all left for Kingdom Bound 2007 last Sunday August 5th around 11am. The ride there was really nice. Hudson had his portable DVD player strapped to the back of the seat so he could watch his Praise Baby Videos(the ONLY video that he will EVER watch). Once we arrived at our campsite, we all got settled in. Andy and the boys set up their tent while mom and I made the RV feel like home. We brought pretty much EVERYTHING with us right down to some throw rugs so it was comfortable, especially with the air conditioning!

Since it was Hudson's first time ever going to a theme park, Andy and I were so excited to take him on the rides!! Here he is riding on the monster trucks with mommy and playing the fishing game with daddy!

He absolutely could not get enough of the kid's rides and especially the water park.

As you can see, Hook's Lagoon was his favorite! Kids were running around splashing and water was squirting from everywhere and he didn't even care!! It was so much fun to see his excitement every time we pulled the little wagon up to the water park!!

(here's Hudson eating a jelly sandwich at the water park...Yum Yum!)

My dad purchased some reserved seats so we didn't have to wait in line for any of the concerts. We were pretty close and the music was definitely loud!! It was a good thing we brought ear plugs for Hudson!! Believe it or not, he really did love the concerts with the lights and the music. He would bob his head and dance and clap. You really cannot ever underestimate a one year old and all that they take in. During the concerts thousands of people were praising the Lord and lifting their hands, including our family and Hudson really took it all in. By the end of the trip, he learned how to praise Jesus. So now, whenever we say, "praise Jesus" his two little arms reach for the sky and it is the most rewarding scene ever. I have posted a picture below so you can see!

The holy spirit was present at every concert; it was a spiritual revival for us. My parents stayed back with Hudson for the Newsboys and Toby Mac because it's not really their style of music but it worked out just great for Andy and I!! :0) Toby Mac sang some old DC Talk songs and the Newsboys concert was just AWESOME!! We really had a wonderful time and best of all....the weather was beautiful!!! Many prayers went out to make that happen I'm sure but the Lord really pulled through for us as He always does!

On our way home yesterday we stopped at the outlet malls (yay!!) I bought a few things and ALMOST gave in and bought a Coach purse, but changed my mind at the last second. Yeah, that's me!! :0) Well, we are home now safe and sound and everything is back to normal. It is nice to go on vacation but it is also nice to be home. Now we are on vacation from our vacation if you know what I mean!

It's just as they say....BABY STEPS!

Well, this past week has been very eventful for Hudson!! He began taking 4-7 steps at a time and I am one proud mommy! Of course having cheerleading experience I am definitely the one cheering him on all day trying to get him to walk all of the time. I guess that day will soon come...

Everything is happening too fast! I really don't know where the time went and it is really odd how you forget things that seemed so important at the time. I don't really remember him being the little "bump on a log" baby that I loved to cuddle and kiss. He will be turning eleven months next week...then...you know what comes next.

Speaking of which, Alison threw an awesome first birthday party for Nathan today which Hudson and I attended. We had so much fun eating hamburgers, watermelon and cake and playing with the sailboats and watching the children. I only hope that Hudson's party will be just as fun!! Thanks Alison!! :0)

My little boy is sleeping now and Andy will be home from work soon!! I better go and make dinner plans...hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

An afternoon at that SPA!!

Today my sister and I went to a local spa and had 1 hr. massages!! OHHHHHH it was WONDERFUL to say the least! Andy had gotten me a gift certificate wayy back when I had Hudson (10 1/2 months ago) and I just got around to using it! Andy was working with my dad tonight so my mom, hudson, ashley and I all went and my mom dropped us off and took Hudson shopping. I also decided to follow up my massage with a pedicure (an absolute must I think!) I now feel soo relaxed and refreshed it was wonderful.

Of course we can't go anywhere without going out to eat...:0) That's the best part as far as I'm concerned! We went to this authentic Mexican restaurant that was muy delicioso!! If you like Mexican food ask me what restaurant and I will give you the info!

We then went to the mall and browsed because my mom had to take some pants back but nothing really has changed since we were there last week. When Hudson gets big enough to move into a "big boy bed" I have decided I am going to move him into our spare room. A while back I found a really really cute dinosaur comforter set and I decided to go with that theme for his room. It's not an ugly graphic detailed dinosaur but really cute, more cartoonish dinosaurs. Well...we went to Kolhs tonight and they have "Kolhs for Kids" promotions they run usually with a $5 books and stuffed animals to go with it. The theme for Kolhs happen to be dinosaurs right now so none the less Hudson now has two dinosaur books and three stuffed dinosaurs thanks to Grandma and Aunt Ashley! I am trying to stock up in the mean time on all of the dinosaur books that I can find to make a pretty good collection for his bookshelf. I am really into themes so if anyone has any ideas let me know!!

Well I think I have babbled enought today...it's late! Goodnight!

Two posts in one day?? This is worth it!!

The most precious thing that I could have ever asked for happened today and I MUST share...

We are a praying family whether we are saying a blessing before dinner or praying with Hudson before he goes to bed at night. Ever since Hudson could eat baby food we would sing the little ditty "God is great, God is good, let us thank God for our food...etc. etc." Now he is old enough to understand so we have been saying our regular meal blessings. I would put his little hands together and say..."Let's pray..." and he would listen. Now, whenever we say "Let's pray" his little hands automatically go together in such a cute way! Tonight...after praying with Hudson at dinner, I said "Amen" and he said "Anen". Of course I didn't think it was possible so I said it again...and he repeated "Anen" It was the cutest thing I have ever heard and not only that, it was a very accomplished feeling as a parent to know that your child is taking a step toward his walk with the Lord. I know Hudson is too young to make that decision but we are getting there slowly! We immediately called up grandma and told her the good news. She came over and wanted to hear it...and she did! We both looked at eachother and melted! So precious! The Bible says it is written into the hearts of all man and that has been proven true today! Praise God!!!

A little sponge...

It's truly amazing how much children watch you and take in what you are doing and saying. Lately Hudson has been amazing me with the things that he can do. I want to write them so I have some kind of record of it so bear with me...

Every mealtime my mom or I give him a spoon or fork to hold on to. Just lately he has been taking the fork, turning it right side up, in his right hand and attempted to stab pieces of food with it and put it in his mouth!

The other day he was getting into Aunt Chelsea's bin of sharpie markers and playing with them (he hasn't figured out how to take the tops off yet thank God!!) There was a piece of paper lying on the floor and he crawled over to the paper with a marker in his hand, turned the marker so that the colored top end was facing down, put the marker to the paper and moved his hand around like he was coloring! It was so amazing especially because I have tried to have him use crayons before but it didn't interest him much.

When daddy plays playstation, Hudson always likes to steal his controllers so we have put an old controller in his toy basket for him to play with. The cord is long so I always wind it up tight so he can't wrap it around his neck or anything. The other day it was coming undone and so I asked him to bring it to me so I could fix it. When he brought it to me I unwound it and re-wound it back up tight and gave it back to him. He crawled behind the chair and a few minutes later he crawled back to me and it was all undone again!! Amazing!! Now it is a game that we play....I wind it up and he unwinds it! (not really a fun game for mommy) lol.

I guess that's all for now...when Hudson gets up we are going to go over to grandma Ema's and swim and play with Shelby and Zeb! Yay!! Hope everyone is having a great day!

FUN, FUN, and more FUN

Yesterday and today were very fun and relaxing. Hudson and I hung out at home yesterday morning and afternoon and had a very relaxing fun time together. He is getting to the perfect age where I really find myself just liking to hang out with him and play and watch him explore. He is getting so close to taking those first steps and I can tell he really wants to, especially when he sees Zeb running around everywhere. He can walk with me holding onto just one of my hands and tottle around. It is so cute! He also began taking daddy's basketball and throwing it up in the air just to watch it bounce on the floor. The ball is 2x his size and it's so funny to watch. It really can entertain him for hours.

Last night I went to the mall with my mom to get some more $5 shirts at Rue21 and 3 pairs of jeans at the Gap for Hudson for a total of....ready ladies???.....a total of $26.00!! That's $9 a pair! I thought that was pretty good. They were already on clearance and then I signed up for a Gap card and received 40% off. That was my steal of the night!

This morning I did hairstyles for a wedding with my mom. I had the pressure of doing the bride today which is a big, important task. I was nervous at first but it really turned out beautifully and I got a lot of compliments. They couldn't belive that I have never had any "formal" training.

We then took Hudson to the County Fair with some friends so that he could see the smelly animals....oh oops! Did I say smelly? I really don't mean that in a mean way....haha. When we got back to the car we both had cow/pig/alpaca/sheep poop on our stroller wheels!! GRR!! Andy and John got out the wipes and began to rub the crap off of the wheels! What great guys we have! lol. We then went out to dinner with our friends and had a really nice time.

I am going to try really hard to make a daily blogging effort! :0) PROMISE! Have a great night everyone!

Missing the blogging days...

Wow have I been a slacker in the blogging area lately!! Hudson is now 10 months old and July 4th has come and gone soo quickly. Last saturday night we took Hudson to our town fireworks and he absolutely loved them until about half way into them when he fell asleep!! I can't imagine sleeping through fireworks, but he managed! Poor little guy was wondering why mommy was trying to keep him awake until 10pm!! The worst thing about the holiday....I FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURES! I was so worried about keeping out of the rain that I left my camera in the car!! :0( So...I don't have any pictures to post right now.

Our new car has been working out wonderfully. We just filled it up for the first time since we got it two weeks ago and it still had a gallon left. And the best part...it only cost us $30!!! Amazing!!

Andy is working for my dad's catering business tonight so Hudson and I are going shopping with grandma!! (yay! :0) We love shopping with grandma! Well...I actually think that I could go shopping everyday and not get sick of it. It's always a challenge to find the best deals! Speaking of deals, the Gap is taking an extra 25% off of all of their baby clearance AND if you sign up for a Gap card before July 8th you receive 40% off your purchase!! I think that is my plan tonight :0) I love that store!

Well I better go get some work done around the house before Hudson wakes up from his morning nap! Hope everyone has a great day! :0)

I have joined the "YOTA" fan club :0)

This is it!! My new car as of Friday (I will have some real pictures soon)! :0) It is the most gorgeous brand spanking new car that I have every had the privilege of owning and I am extremely excited about it! It drives beautifully, it's a 2007 with only 200 miles on it, and best of all...it gets a whopping 34 miles per gallon city and 39 highway!! A necessity in today's world. I highly recommend the Toyota Yaris to anyone looking for an affordable, economical, asthetically pleasing new car. So...that's my big news!
We have been so busy lately with graduation, cheerleading open gym(I coach) and all that I thought I really needed to catch everyone up. As far as Hudson goes, he is still crusing around in his own efficient way and standing alone for seconds on end without realizing it. As soon as he does realize, though...down he goes! It's so cute. He is babbling and laughing more than ever and really developing his own personality lately.
I will blog whenever I get a second but seconds lately are few and far between! I hope everyone understands that! Have a great week!!

Teething Days...

Hudson and Papa sleeping...sooo precious!
This is our new wagon we got from Grandma and Papa!! It turns into a bench and it has two seats with seatbelts and it can be a cooler and cup holders...the works!! I absolutely love it!!
Here's Hudson on the playground! Soo much fun with Aunt Ashley and Grandma!! :0)

Hudson just had two more teeth come in the other day and the count is now up to 8. Today he started with the fussiness and runny nose so I think that there are more coming. It is not such a fun time when instead of playing really well like he usually does he just follows me around crying and wants me to hold him a lot. It's so sad bc they are so helpless. So...needless to say my morning has consisted of wiping a runny nose and carrying 20 lbs around :0). I am at my mom's now trying to put him down for a nap so I can go help Mallory paint for a bit and he is fighting it like crazy! Poor little guy!

Well 10 minutes has elapsed and now I am back to writing. Hudson sits beside me playing with his toys. I'm so weak! :0) We will try again in a 1/2 hr. It's just one of those days!

It's grocery night tonight and a busy day tomorrow. I have to hlep my mom do hair for a wedding party and then Andy has to work at the Hotel for a wedding. Then my mom and I are going to my grandma's for a little party. Her cousin from Oregon will be here so we will party all night! :0) It should be fun. I hope Hudson is up for it! Well I'd better get going...I hope everyone has a nice weekend! Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful daddies out there!

llllloooonnnngggg day...

Today was a long day at work for me and extremely busy. Lucklily I was able to end my day with meeting some friends for dinner. It was relaxing and yummy!! Except for the end of dinner where Hudson was beginning to get tired and antsy! When we got home there were some horrible thunder and lightning storms, so I waited until they were mostly over and I put Hudson in his ducky tub, gave him a bottle, and off to night night he was! The evenings are very short and the time that I get to spend with Hudson on work days is special. I really don't know how working moms do it all! I give them a lot of credit!

I don't really have much to post today except for my schedule as depicted above. No random deep thoughts, no....nothing. Wow...that's unusual! :0) Everyone have a good night!

Slacker...

I am being a blogging slacker lately so while my husband is upstairs complaining for me to come to bed I am going to blog real quick...

Yesterday was the last day of Franklin Graham and it was wonderful! My sister brought some friends, two of which accepted the Lord. Praise God! The choir sounded beautiful on my most favorite song of the weekend "O God Our Help in Ages Past" . Love it! I bought the Point of Grace CD and LOVE IT! Highly recommended! I got home just in time to feed Hudson his bedtime bottle and for him to fall asleep on me. My favorite moment of the day and the only time when he is cuddly.

Today was a work day for me but I got to come home with dinner made by my wonderful husband! He had a salad prepared, and cooked out burgers and hot dogs on the grill. That felt really wonderful and I now realize why that is so important to him on his long days at work. Tonight we started cheerleading open gym (I coach). I love getting back into cheerleading as I have a passion for that as well. I will probably post some picture once the season starts. Not for a few months. It's amazing what these girls can do!

Well I better go now...my bed is calling...and it's very inticing! :0) Goodnight everyone! Dinner with John Jillian and Brooke tomorrow! Yay!

Praise GOD!

Well...it's Saturday morning and I haven't blogged in a few days so I am feeling very behind! :0) Let's see, Thursday was a Hudson and Mommy day, always so special...and then he stayed with grandma while I went to dress rehearsal for the F.G. festival. Yesterday Hudson and I spent most of the day at the pool catchin some rays and staying cool in the HOT weather! I planted flowers while Hudson was asleep and it was such a relaxing time. I really see why many people are very into their flower gardens. Then while daddy and mommy went to the F.G. Festival, Hudson stayed with Auntie Britt and played with Shelby and Zeb! I am absolutely sure that he had a great time with them! When we got home he was snoozing away!

The Franklin Graham Festival was WONDERFUL lastnight. There were probably 1,000 that came to know the Lord and accepted Him into their heart. I just sat there thinking about the enormous party that they were having up in heaven while that was going on. The angels were rejoicing and the heavenly choir was singing. It gives me chills just thinking about it! Point of Grace was sooooo awesome! Their harmonies and voices are absolutely beautiful I could have listened to them all day. I need their CD badly :0) I must plan a trip to Arrowhead soon!

Tonight Andy and I are going to have a nice evening out at a wedding reception of one of my good friends. They got married in the Carribean on May 17th so this is just the reception part of the wedding. It should be fun. Aunt Ashley is going to watch Hudson which will be lots of fun for him...he loves her! :0) Although I like going to all of the festivities this weekend, I really don't like leaving my baby so much. I guess it will be over soon enough and we can go back to being together again...mommy and Hudson (and daddy:0)) At the same time I do realize that it is good for him to be with other people so he wont be afraid of people and only want me all of the time. We have a big family and EVERYONE loves him, of course...I would feel terrible if all he wanted to be with was me all of the time. Not to mention that gets costing on me. It makes me feel good to be needed but I have to put his interest first always.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekends and at last, here are the pictures I promised!! :0)

What's up Doc??

Like I said before...I knew exactly what our Dr. would say. :0) "Don't worry about it, he's just getting older and eating more table food. He is picking up his nutrition elsewhere, I wouldn't be concerned. Just keep doing what you're doing." That left my mind at ease. Altogether it was a good Dr. visit and the best news we got....NO SHOTS TODAY!! I guess he is up to date so he wont need any until he is a year old. Which surprisingly isn't far away. His in this 75th percentile for height to weight ratio so that is good. After his Dr. appointment we came home and mommy made roast beef, potatoes, and carrots for dinner, yum yum! Then we went to Grandma EMA's to play with Shelby and Zeb for a while. So much fun! :0) Especially since he is getting older and he can interact with them more. It is so cute to watch!

I just tried to load some pics and my stupid computer messed up...I will have to try tomorrow! Hudson is sooooo into any kind of ball right now, it's so cute. Boys are definitely boys! He doesn't get into his Jeep walker anymore but he definitely likes checking out the tires on it. Sooo not a girl thing! :0)

Tomorrow night is dress rehearsal for Frankling Graham Festival...YAY!! I am so excited! I cannot wait to see so many lives brought to Christ through this. It is so wonderful! Well...I'm off to bed now! Goodnight all!

7 years ago today...

Seven years ago today I fell in love with the most wonderful man God could have ever placed in my path. Sometimes I wish that I could go back to the high school days of being in love when relationships didn't require any type of responsibility and the only think I had to worry about was if Andy was going to call me or not. As I think of the long journey that our relationship has been through I have MANY fond memories and I look forward to what the future will bring. More babies hopefully! :0) (No...not just yet though!)

Thank you so much for your helpful comments on the formula issue. I think that I will see what the dr. says tomorrow and at this point I'm not even sure that he would drink milk?! I just don't know. He doesn't really get that much juice but what he does get I might have to take away for a while just to get him to drink his bottle. It's frustrating but hopefully it will get figured out tomorrow. I will post an update for sure...

Andy picked Hudson up from my mom's today because he gets home before me on days that I work. When I pulled into the driveway he and Hudson were in the yard playing on a blanket. It was so cute...once Hudson realized it was me he started crawling around the blanket as fast as he could but he will NOT go off of it and touch the grass for ANYTHING! Isn't that funny? He just started pushing around this little walker toy that helps them learn to walk on their own. It's the cutest thing ever! I will have to post a picture soon. Seeing his chunky little legs try to keep up with the wheels of the walker is so funny!! I'm still not sure I want the day to come where he takes steps on his own though. It will be so sad...I wont have a baby anymore!! What I am most afraid of is that my heart will ache for another baby because I will miss the baby stages but my mind has already decided to wait a couple years. Anyone else feel that way?

Well...I'm gonna go get a shower and it's off to bed early! There's no better feeling! :0)

Not too fond of Mondays...

Looking ahead at my week I can surely say that I am really busy and I'm not really fond of the thought of having somethign to do every day of the week. Hudson has his 9 month appointment on Wednesday and you know what that means! MORE SHOTS! :0( Yuck...

We are also having a little problem drinking formula lately...he doesn't want to drink it!!! Has anyone ever heard of this??? My mom said he would only drink like an ounce at a time and he would NOT drink anymore. He still drinks a 6 oz bottle at night but they say they need 16 ozs in a day and he might get 12 at the most. I'm going to ask the doctor what he thinks but does anyone have any suggestions in the mean time? I think it's because he loves water and juice and he likes his sippy cups but he REFUSES to drink formula from a sippy. He literally gags. I'm not sure if that is drama or what but he really gags! It's kind of funny but it makes me sad thinking that he might not be getting all of the nutrition he needs. I do give him vitamins to help too but I don't know....I'm at a loss! Help!!

I think it SUITS me...

Well...after a crappy day of not feeling well yesterday, I took a cool shower and off we went to go to the mall and get groceries. I purchased this bathingsuit from Lands End(thanks Lisa!) at Sears and I absolutely LOVE it(although it wont look this good on me)!! I got the green mini skirted bottoms instead. I am not sure what kind of little bug I had yesterday but I felt achy and I would break out into sweats every now and then. It is weird. I am also soooooooo tired! I hope this doesn't last because I have to work tomorrow and that will not be fun. Please pray for this to be over and also that Hudson wouldn't get it.

Yesterday while I was taking a nap, Andy was watching Hudson and all I could hear was the sweetest little laugh that I have ever heard in my life! Andy was taking his pacifier and putting it in his mouth and spitting it out. So easily amused! It was so wonderful to know that if I need a break Andy really can handle it. Sometimes we don't give our men enough credit. Or at least I know that I don't.

Our friends brought over their wii today and it is really so much fun to play and good excercise too! My arm is still sore from playing tennis! Something that I would not be very good at in real life but I actually almost beat Andy! (Notice I say almost)

I am still not feeling very good and Hudson is cranky from only getting one nap in today so I think it is early to bed tonight for both of us! I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Two awesome baby food items...

Today I am going to give some credit to two items of baby food that I just completely LOVE!! (pictured above for your viewing pleasure) :0) First the "motts for tots" juice boxes. I belive that I mentioned them before...they are wonderful!! Already diluted juice! What a great idea and Hudson just loves them! Second, the yo baby yogurt. Another one of Hudson's faves! It is great for them and they have added dha and some also have baby cereal mixed in. great for a breakfast item or a snack! Just thought I would give them some credit in my post today :0)

Today I did my sisters' hair for the prom. She is going with a friend to his school prom. It was a lot of fun and it turned out beautifully if I do say so myself :0). I have pictures on my phone but not on my computer...sorry!

We then traveled over the hill to my cousin's sixteenth birthday party. It was a lot of fun. Hudson jumped on the trampoline with daddy and went down the slide. He really just enjoys being outdoors. Then I handed him to nana (his great grandma) and she fed him some ice cream and cake! He always gets fed sweets with her! :0) but i guess that's what nanas are for! I then took my cousin driving for only the second time in her life and she actually did a good job. Luckily she wasn't driving my car. lol. It was still a lot of fun. When I was putting Hudson's pjs on before the ride home I noticed that I forgot socks! Luckily my Aunt Lisa had some left from Macie when she was a baby. Yes...I said she....and yes, Hudson wore pink socks tonight! haha. So funny...I figured I had to blog about it so I can remember to tell him someday! But I reassured him, "ONLY REAL MEN WEAR PINK!" So he wasn't too traumatized. haha. Have a great night everyone!

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

Today was such a fun day! Hudson got to go swimming twice today. He just absolutely LOVES water and it doesn't even bother him to get splashed or anything! It's so fun! First I filled up his little pool and mommy stuck her feet in while Hudson played. I tried to get some sun but not sure it worked too well. Then after the afternoon nap we went with Aunt Ashley to a friend of my mom's heated pool! It was 82 degrees and so wonderfully refreshing! I can't wait for my in-laws pool to get that warm, then I have decided to pitch a tent and practically LIVE there!! :0) I really would like to start somet mommy and me swimming classes or something but nothing is really close.

But wearing a bathing suit, now that's a different story! I HATE bathing suits. I feel like if I was a bathing suit designer I would have the cutest bathing suits for "mom" bodies! :0) I have to get a new one and I am dreading it...

The Franklin Graham choir rehearsal was wonderful!! We are singing the most beautiful songs! While I was there, Andy was at Pete's baseball game (which they lost) and Hudson was out with grandma and papa. I guess they went hog wild at toys r' us and spoiled him a little bit. They bought him a wagon which i am super psyched about. He got some jammies and an outfit and a floatation device for the pool! Yay! I heard that he got to go to cracker barrel too! Yum yum! He was fast asleep in his crip by the time I got home. I don't like that because I didn't get to kiss him! I am half tempted to but it will be worse if I wake him! That wouldn't be fun! I better get to bed...it's late! Have a great day!

My how they grow...

Tomorrow Hudson will be 9 months old and it just amazes me how much he has grown since he was born. I always try to take in every moment because I know that it wont last long. It seems like yesterday all he could say was "goo" and he just laid wherever you put him because he couldn't do much else. Now he can say duck, dog (which both sound the same, haha) mama, dada, ball, and even recognize what each object is. He is attempting to stand on his own, usually holding onto something with one hand and letting go and slowly melting like the wicked witch of the west on the Wizard of Oz. Haha! It just amazes me how much their minds are like little sponges soaking up all the world has to offer, but little do they know that this world actually doesn't have much to offer at all. Our real, true fulfillment comes from Christ and meditating on God's word. I just hope that in raising Hudson that he will truly understand that. In fact, I will make that my prayer tonight and I encourage any other parent that is reading to do the same. We just don't realize what kind of world our children have to grow up in so we must rely on the Lord to keep them focused, protected, and true to the Word. It is a big responsibility to be a parent but of course we are not to worry and be anxious for nothing but in all things through prayer and supplication make our requests known to God.

I didn't mean to make this sooo deep today :0) Just got off on a tangent!! I hope that you can understand where I am coming from. Tomorrow is the first rehearsal for the Franklin Graham Choir. I am excited because I haven't sang in a choir in years! Tomorrow is finally Hudson and mommy day...YAY! I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow! Bye for now!

P.S. be sure to check out my new link to the "picasa pictures" they are wonderful :0)

The shortest day of my life...

Time flew by today!! I worked 8 hours but it felt like 2 and we got home and ate dinner and here I sit...and it's almost 8:30!! I can't believe it! Hudson is behind me, not bathed yet at all, chasing a balloon around the room! Haha! He is soo easily amused!

Tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful day in which I wasn't supposed to work but my boss asked me to. I am not looking forward to sitting in an office all day when it is gorgeous and 80 degrees outside. Maybe I will be able to leave early. I can only hope :0)! I don't really have much else to discuss today, other than I am looking forward to giving my baby a bath, and getting a shower of my own. Then cuddling up to read THE book :0) I think I'd best get started on those tasks now. Hudson just got in trouble for touching daddy's supernintendo (which he is still intrigued about playing) so I better go get him! :0) Have a good day tomorrow everyone!

Memorial Day...

Today was a lot of fun! This morning I went shopping with Jill and I got lots of great stuff. If anyone remembers wearing "jellies" when they were little...they have them at journeys and I got a black pair! They are so cute and surprisingly comfortable. I got a new cell phone today too which is always nice. I was debating between a samsung good for texting or the krazer, which is just pretty. Well...I finally decided on the Krazer. Supposedly you have 30 days to try it out so we will see! Why does shopping make women happy?? Well, MOST women I should say! I just love to go shopping and my husband doesn't understand it. Every time I tell him I'm going to vestal he says "Trip one of five this week!" There is just something about shopping. If anyone figures out the answer to my question then please let me know!! :0)

We got back and just hung out around the house. Mostly outside. Andy decided that we needed to play a game of PIG (basketball) so we did that. I was always a cheerleader for a reason...I'm not good at basketball at all! For every one shot he made, I got three shots to try to make it in! Haha. Nonetheless he one once and I won once just to be fair! :0)

Then Andy, Hudson, and I layed out under the trees in the shade on a blanket for some family time. Mommy and daddy would have like to take a nap but that is impossible with a 9 month old crawling all over you and jibber jabering! At one point Andy said..."Oh Hudson...what would it be like without you?" and we both decided that it would just be plain BORING :0) I never want to imagine what it would be like so that is the conclusion we drew. Hudson is in bed now and Andy is still playing that super nintendo. Back to work tomorrow! I hope everyone has a good day!

Day with the Aharts!

We went to church this morning to hear a wonderful sermon by the intern Pastor. He really spoke to my heart when he was talking about the Bible being "THE book" and how we need to put reading the bible before reading other things. I love reading books and magazines and sometimes I find myself reading them more than I read the Bible and I just realized that I cannot do that anymore.

On our way home I sat in the back seat to give Hudson a little snack to keep him distracted from our Dunkin Donuts stop!! I bought him these Motts Tots juice boxes that are already diluted with water! They are the best things! Hudson sucked that right down; he just loved it! Luckily my mom was able to teach him how to drink out of a straw a couple months ago. He's really a pro now!

For the rest of the afternoon and evening we hung out at the Aharts'. We played with Shelby and Zeb and ate dinner. Hudson also had his first ice pop! He loved it! Only the first of many for the summer I'm sure. We cleaned the pool and got it ready for use and just really had so much fun just hanging out.

Hudson is off to sleep and Andy is playing the super nintendo (remember those?) that he found in my mom's garage today so I am going to go play with him. Usually I am not a fan of video games AT ALL, but I seem to have a weak spot for mario! :0) Have a great night all!

Pamper me...and I don't mean diapers for once!

Brittany and Pete, Prom 2007

I went for my pedicure and manicure this morning with brittnye and brittany. It was so relaxing and long awaited! Today was the infamous PROM day for Pete and Brittany. We ran errands this morning and then we met up at my mom's house where I styled Brittany's hair. It looked so beautiful if I do say so myself! Actually...I will post a picture so you all can see! :0) After that I helped her get dressed and took pictures and off they went! I remember prom being so fun!! Sometimes I really miss those days.

We had dinner at Andy's parent's house and Hudson stuck his feet in the big pool. Boy did he love it!! I really cannot wait till this summer when we spend our days off in the sun by the pool with Brittnye and the kids! There is just nothing better! Except...I am not at all looking forward to wearing a bathing suit. I never really cared all that much before, but I just all of the sudden feel like i have a total MOM body! It's very depressing. I need to get serious about doing something about it. I will let you in on a little secret...I ordered the HipHop Abs dvds off of QVC the other night. I am hoping it will be a fun way to excercise. I can't wait until they come in. I will let you know how they are! :0)

I am going to post the picture and hit the sack! Yard sale tomorrow if anyone gets bored!! :0)

Have a GODnight!!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

What a relaxing, gorgeous day it was today! Hudson and I just hung out today. I got out his little blow up pool and filled it with water. We put his little surfer wetsuit shirt on and his swimming trunks, slathered him with sunscreen and out we went! He absolutely loves water and he loved playing in it (as you can see)! We will have to watch him this summer by my in-law's inground pool. yikes!

Anyways...we hung clothes out on the line, weeded the flower bed, priced yard sale stuff, etc. It was just a really nice day at home today. Then tonight we traveled to Dryden for my cousin's 13th birthday party. Wow...13...I think back to my thirteenth birthday and laugh! All I wanted was a pair of wide leg jeans! HaHa! Those were the days.

Tomorrow I am going for a pedicure and manicure with my sister-in-law and my brother-in-law's girlfriend so that should be fun. It is always very important to pamper yourself every once and a while. Remember that ladies! :0)

I best get to bed now!! Adios!

Cosmetologist for a day...

Well...this morning we went to Elmira for my sister to get fingerprinted. Haha...it sounds like she's a criminal! Really...she has to have that done before she can get her checks for substitute teaching at the elementary school that she has been teaching at. When we got back I had to be a cosmetologist/hairdresser and practice on a bride for her wedding day. 7/7/07 is such a popular wedding day this year and my mom double booked herself so now I get to do one of the weddings. I love styling hair and the practice went pretty well so it should be fun!

Hudson's rash update: today I am leaning toward excema (sp) because his legs felt rough but the redness was gone. I have some creme that the Dr. gave me that I might try. I think that maybe something just irritated his skin. Hmm....

Well I think Hudson is up from his nap now so I am going to go get him!!! Have a great day everyone! It's beautiful out! Enjoy it!

my work is done here...

Well I have completed two tasks for the week. (1) mom's kitchen, and (2) my days of working at the law firm for the week. YAY! Now its just "Mommy and Hudson day" for the next five days and I am so excited! Tomorrow we have some plans with Aunt Ashley so that should be fun. My only other task yet to complete. Mark the items I am putting in my sister-in-law, Brittnye's yard sale. (not fun!)

So let's talk about the American Idol finale...I AM SO TORN!!! (I know you don't like Blake, Jillian) BUT...I think his beat boxing is awesome!!!!!!!! (we will fight about this later...haha) But I love Jordin's voice and personality. She is so good! I might just not vote at all. Oh and might I ask...what was up with Randy's 80's jacket? and Paula's pastel pink lipstick and extensions? EEK!!

Hudson has a rash on his legs today. Could that be from teething? I think I will have to research that. Or...it might be from my mom's laundry detergent because he wore some clothes that she washed although the rash is mainly on his legs so that doesn't make sense. Hmm...he does have a bit of exema (sp) but it's too much to be that. I guess I will have to keep an eye on it. Any suggestions?

I'm going to get going now...merry christmas to all and to all a goodnight...:0) (yeah...I know it's not December, so what?)

Laws Laws and more Laws...

Today was a work day for me (boring) and Hudson was occupied at my mom's all day. He really loves it there! In the midst of the painting and re-doing the kitchen I am sure he kept busy. When I got to my mom's I stayed and began doing the tile backsplash above the countertops. (Yes..I know I am talented) I really know how to do that are you shocked?!?! I would probably call it one of my hobbies or something. I love decorating and designing!

My dad brought home pizza for dinner and I just kept right on tiling...haha...yeah right! Pizza? or Tiling? hmm...

Anyways, mom gave Hudson a bath (yay!) and we headed home for a bottle and bed time. He was tired out! I'm not sure what grandma did to him today but he sure was tuckered out! Now I am just off to get my shower and prepare for another long day at work tomorrow. Have a good night everyone!

More of the SAME...

Today we attended church where Hudson had TONS of fun in the nursery with his girlfriend, Miss Brooke. They read stories, chatted, the usually infant dating activities. Afterwards we went out to brunch with my mom and dad at IHOP and off we were to Lowes again. My mom forgot to buy a new light fixture. Andy worked as today was graduation on the campus, so we really missed not having him with us. Once we got home Hudson, Daddy and I took a much needed nap and off we were to paint at grandma's house. We did make some progress but there is still much more to do!

Sorry this blog is so boring. I guess I am allowed one every once and a while!! :0) Andy is pushing me to get to bed a little bit earlier tonight so I think I am going to listen to him...for once! haha. Goodnight everyone...thanks for reading.

Mom's re-decorating idea...

So my mom has this huge idea to TOTALLY re-do her kitchen. She wants to paint, tile, new appliances, the works. My day pretty much consisted of that...

First thing, I went with my sister and Hudson and walked around the Tioga Terrace Yard Sales. Normally I do not really care for yard sales but sometimes you can hit up one with nice baby clothes because they don't really wear them much. If I weren't saving my clothes for my future children then I would have a pretty good yard sale if I do say so myself. Nonetheless, we had no luck at all! But it was fun to walk around with Hudson in the Bjorn. He loved it anyway!

Next Mom and I were off to Home Depot to buy the goods (Lowes didn't have the tile we were looking for...otherwise I usually am a Lowes fan) :0) So we bought everything and came back and got straight to work. Oh...I left out the chinese take-out. Haha...yum yum! We made some progress but we still have lots to do tomorrow. I am exhausted so I have to cut this short. Sorry!! I will post some ending product pictures possibly...eventually...goodnight...::YAWN::

Mouth Open W I D E Kisses

Hudson is full of kisses lately...all you have to do is lean toward him and he knows what to do! That's my boy! Of course I wont be very happen that I taught him that when the girls start rolling around. Although we already decided he can date only one girl...you know who you are princess!! It's funny because they are so little yet have so much in common...they both have reflux! In other words there wont be any kissing yet...it might be a messy situation! Ha! Ha! :0)

Anyways...today was just a relaxing fun day with Hudson. We played and played and played. We even went over to grandma's house and played hide and seek with Aunt Ashley. Daddy is working a lot lately due to graduation at the college so pretty much it has been "mommy and Hudson" day, everyday! I am really beginning to miss Andy and this working Saturdays business is getting old, but soon it will all be over! My sister-in-law's husband is in Iraq right now and I truly just can't imagine. I admire her for the way she is handling the situation though....everytime I see her she is smiling and uplifted and she seems to be peaceful. Only that peace can come from the Lord and I know He had made His home in her heart. Please pray for his safety if you think about it...the Lord has kept him safe thus far and we trust that He will continue to do so. Moral of the story: Count your blessings!

Sorry to make this post so saddening...just take a look at the picture I posted and that should make you smile! :0) Off I go to bed...my two boys are already sleeping...

Busy Busy Bee~*~*

I must not be a truly obsessed blogger yet since I have skipped a couple days! (oops!) I have been so busy lately. My boss's wife is a professor at Ithaca College and she has asked me to calculate her grades for over 100 students so that definitely has the nap times occupied! As for the fun stuff...we just put down new tiles in our kitchen that look so beautiful. I couldn't stand looking at the 1950's tiles ANYMORE...they just had to go! On top of that my house needs up keep of course, i.e. laundry, dishes, cleaning, etc. The usual wife/mom stuff.

Of course I must tell a cute Hudson story for all who want to read! This morning he was laying in bed with me...actually, I should say climbing all over me when he began slapping my face. We are trying to teach him that behavior is not acceptable and that he needs to be nice, so I said to him, "Hudson, you need to be NICE!" Showing him with his hands how to be nice to my face. When we were done with the little lecture he bent down, mouth wide open to give me a KISS!!! It was the most precious thing! I think sometimes babies understand more than we give them credit for! I now vow to never underestimate his comprehension...he amazes me sometimes! When I say, "Where's your duck?" He will quickly crawl around until he finds his little rubber ducky. He has a little tykes sports center that he has learned to put the ball in the basketball hoop and whenever I say, "make a basket!!" he will put it in! He understands that when I say "Come here" that means he is supposed to come to me. It amazes me...God is SO good! He created us so intricately that even at 8 1/2 months old we can tap into emotions, comprehend sentences and follow instructions. It never ceases to amaze me how people can say that there isnt a God...just look around you; the evidence is infiniteless.

I hope you all have a great day tomorrow! Goodnight!

It's a LEGAL day...

Today I had to work which is never overly exciting although it is nice to have something else to occupy my time twice a week. Our bookkeeper turned 72 today so we spent the last hour eating cake!! That was the highlight of my day...I just couldn't wait to see my baby though! There is really nothing like the way his eyes light up and he puts his little arms out for me to pick him up with the biggest smile on his face EVER!!! If I could bottle up that moment it would be priceless. It is so nice to be loved and needed like that.

Then my mom gave me the news...no, don't get worried...nothing serious!! She said "He didn't sleep very well...only an hour this morning and 45 mins this afternoon." ........my thoughts exactly! This should be a fun night, especially when we had grocery shopping to do. Off we went to Price Chopper and he ended up being soooo well behaved. I was surprised. We got home at 9:30, he had a bottle, and he was off to bed without a peep! I love those kinds of nights.

Well...I guess that was my day...it's 10:30 (normally my bed time...but I think I'm addicted to blogging. Is that possible? Ha Ha.) Now I am off to get a shower and do some devotions....adios!

My First Mother's Day

Today is my first real mother's day...at this time last year i was about six and a half months pregnant with many questions running through my mind. To most of which, I am proud to say that I have the answers today. I know how to decipher the cries, comfort a fall, survive the doctors visits and the vaccinations, schedule the nap times, plan the feedings, and best of all...I can come up with a song for any situation in a snap!!

I woke up today with breakfast in bed from my wonderful husband along with a little love note that was so sweet. At 8:00 a.m. he told me he was going to hang some clothes out on the line...of course I thought he was nuts since it was about 40 degrees this morning! Little did I know he was preparing breakfast!

We were then off to church to enjoy a beautiful service and sense the Lord's presence. It is a wonderful thing! For some reason the only thing I wanted to do for mother's day is go to Bargain Outlet and get new tiles for our kitchen floor, so that's exactly what we did. Andy, Hudson and I made the trip to the store and I now have tiles for my kitchen!! So exciting!! (I may need to summon some help putting them down) :0)

We came home and hung out with our families before Hudson had enough of the random nap schedule for today. He was in bed at 8:30 p.m. and out like a light. I realized that he cut his 5th tooth today! They are coming in so quickly and let me tell you...it's not a picnic. He has had a runny nose, an ear infection, a cough, and had not been a happy camper. I really can't wait for the teething days to be over. Overall my day was wonderful...my overwhelming love for my son can chase any problems away immediately. All I have to do is look at him. He is so precious. My mom was right...there is nothing like the love of a mother for her child.

So I leave you with a quote...

“A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.”
- Cardinal Mermillod

So true...Happy Mother's Day to all...

Blogging Away...

I am now an official blogger thanks to Jillian!! I have posted a picture of my pride and joy because...well...i just can't help it. For some reason when you become a parent, you go picture CRAZY and it doesn't matter if you have the same picture, different day...it's still the most precious thing that you have ever seen. Nonetheless, I hope you like Hudson...because he will be the center of every blog I'm sure. He encompases my thoughts, I can't help it. Yes...Andy too! Welcome to my journey...my world...and my life...enjoy.
