My First Mother's Day

Today is my first real mother's day...at this time last year i was about six and a half months pregnant with many questions running through my mind. To most of which, I am proud to say that I have the answers today. I know how to decipher the cries, comfort a fall, survive the doctors visits and the vaccinations, schedule the nap times, plan the feedings, and best of all...I can come up with a song for any situation in a snap!!

I woke up today with breakfast in bed from my wonderful husband along with a little love note that was so sweet. At 8:00 a.m. he told me he was going to hang some clothes out on the line...of course I thought he was nuts since it was about 40 degrees this morning! Little did I know he was preparing breakfast!

We were then off to church to enjoy a beautiful service and sense the Lord's presence. It is a wonderful thing! For some reason the only thing I wanted to do for mother's day is go to Bargain Outlet and get new tiles for our kitchen floor, so that's exactly what we did. Andy, Hudson and I made the trip to the store and I now have tiles for my kitchen!! So exciting!! (I may need to summon some help putting them down) :0)

We came home and hung out with our families before Hudson had enough of the random nap schedule for today. He was in bed at 8:30 p.m. and out like a light. I realized that he cut his 5th tooth today! They are coming in so quickly and let me tell you...it's not a picnic. He has had a runny nose, an ear infection, a cough, and had not been a happy camper. I really can't wait for the teething days to be over. Overall my day was wonderful...my overwhelming love for my son can chase any problems away immediately. All I have to do is look at him. He is so precious. My mom was right...there is nothing like the love of a mother for her child.

So I leave you with a quote...

“A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.”
- Cardinal Mermillod

So true...Happy Mother's Day to all...

I'm so happy that Andy made your first Mother's Day a special one. I'm very excited to see your new floor!
